In molte parti del mondo sono attese le celebrazioni del Natale ortodosso. In Cisgiordania e Iraq sono già state celebrate alcune messe, ricordando le vittime delle guerra tra Hamas e Israele. In Russia e Serbia il Natale cade il 7 gennaio e non il 25 dicembre come per i cattolici e i protestanti. 

In many parts of the world the Orthodox Christmas celebrations took place. In West Bank and Iraq some celebrations took place remembering the victims of the war between Hamas and Israel. In Russia and Serbia the Christmas coincides with 7 January and 25 December for the catholics and the protestants.

In Iraq, decine di cristiani armeni ortodossi hanno partecipato alle celebrazioni natalizie presso la Chiesa armena di Baghdad. Molti cristiani iracheni hanno cancellato le celebrazioni di Natale e Capodanno in solidarietà con i palestinesi di Gaza e il Paese è in lutto per le vittime dell'incendio di un matrimonio mortale che ha ucciso più di 100 persone nell'area prevalentemente cristiana di Hamdaniya, nel nord dell’Iraq.

In Iraq, tens of Armenian Christian took part in the Christmas celebrations at the Baghdad Armenian Church. Many Iraqi christian cancelled the Christmas celebrations and New Year in solidarity with the Palestinians of Gaza and the county is mourning for the fire victims of a mortal marriage that killed more than 100 people in the predominantly christian area of Hamdaniya, in the north of Iraq.
